HOW LONG IS A CHURCH SERVICE?
In total, a Zion Church service is about 60 to 70 minutes in length.
Our Traditional Service includes hymns accompanied by our Organist, a traditional worship setting, children’s message and communion. This service is 60 minutes long.
Our Contemporary Service begins with the Wellspring team leading the church in music. A more contemporary worship setting with music from our Wellspring team, a children’s message and communion. This service is about 60 minutes long.
Song lyrics, prayers, and lessons for both services are provided on screens so you can sing along and/or engage with worship however you feel most comfortable.
Do I have to take communion? If I am not a member or even Lutheran, can I still take communion?
Communion is not a requirement of our worship service. If you wish to remain seated and pass on communion, that is perfectly fine. There are always a number that choose to do this, so you will not be alone.
Communion is open to everyone, if you are new or a current member, a Lutheran or not. At Zion, we believe that the Lord’s table is open to all, and all are welcome.
What about my kids?
Kids are always wecome in worship. Each service offers a children’s message and noisy offering. This offering allows the kids to place loud coins into a metal bowl making a satisfying noise for them. Our contemporary service also has small instruments for the kids during the last song of the service to play.
Between worship services (fall - spring) we offer Sunday School downstairs. If you are new or are visiting, stop by and ask for Miss Wendy, our Sunday School coordinator. She will be more than happy to welcome your kid(s) and get them to a group.
Looking to become a member?
New Members are welcomed once a year: once in the winter/spring. New Members attend an orientation time, which aims to help new members get acquainted with one another and with Zion. After participating in orientation, new members are welcomed during worship.
Make Zion your church home! Welcome to the family!
